Lecture 41 :- Convert the Temperature

To convert temperature from one scale to another, you can use the conversion formulas. The two common temperature scales are Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F). Here are the conversion formulas:

  1. Celsius to Fahrenheit: °F = (°C * 9/5) + 32
  2. Fahrenheit to Celsius: °C = (°F - 32) * 5/9

Here's a C++ program that allows you to convert temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice versa:

cppCopy code

#include <iostream> double celsiusToFahrenheit(double celsius) {    return (celsius * 9.0 / 5.0) + 32.0; } double fahrenheitToCelsius(double fahrenheit) {    return (fahrenheit - 32.0) * 5.0 / 9.0; } int main() {    double temperature;    char scale;    std::cout << "Enter the temperature: ";    std::cin >> temperature;    std::cout << "Enter the scale (C or F): ";    std::cin >> scale;    if (scale == 'C' || scale == 'c') {        double fahrenheit = celsiusToFahrenheit(temperature);        std::cout << temperature << " degrees Celsius is " << fahrenheit << " degrees Fahrenheit." << std::endl;    } else if (scale == 'F' || scale == 'f') {        double celsius = fahrenheitToCelsius(temperature);        std::cout << temperature << " degrees Fahrenheit is " << celsius << " degrees Celsius." << std::endl;    } else {        std::cout << "Invalid scale. Please enter 'C' or 'F'." << std::endl;    }    return 0; }

Example output:

mathematicaCopy code

Enter the temperature: 25 Enter the scale (C or F): C 25 degrees Celsius is 77 degrees Fahrenheit.

mathematicaCopy code

Enter the temperature: 98.6 Enter the scale (C or F): F 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit is 37 degrees Celsius.

In this program, we define two functions celsiusToFahrenheit and fahrenheitToCelsius to perform the conversions. The user is prompted to enter the temperature and the scale (Celsius or Fahrenheit), and the appropriate conversion is performed based on the scale input.

Feel free to run this program and try converting temperatures from one scale to another.
